Why this role exists

Our engagements have one exit condition, and it isn't a document: a named non-technical person at the client runs the tool unaided while we watch. Enterprise AI deployments hand off to an internal engineering team. Our clients don't have one. This role is why we can still leave.

What you'll do

  • Own the training phase of every engagement and the exit gate that closes it
  • Build the runbooks, walkthroughs, and reference material that survive after we go — written for the person who does the job, not for an engineer
  • Sit with client staff through first real use and fix what confuses them, in the product where possible
  • Feed adoption failures back to engineering as design problems, not user problems
  • Track and report adoption honestly, including when it's bad

What we need from you

  • You've taught non-technical adults to use software they didn't ask for, and you know why most of it fails
  • Strong plain-language writing — no jargon smuggled in as vocabulary
  • Fluent enough with AI tools to teach their limits, not just their features
  • Patience with people, impatience with bad interfaces

Nice to have

  • Instructional design or technical writing background
  • Experience training frontline staff — retail, hospitality, trades, warehouse
  • Spanish

Your first 90 days

  • Week 1–3: sit through two live handoffs and document where clients actually get stuck
  • Week 4–8: rebuild the handoff pack template from what you found
  • By day 90: every engagement closing with an observed, unaided client operator
