Grounded is computed, not remembered
An asset with a lapsed compliance item is unavailable, as a fact about the data. Nobody has to notice the registration expired.
Maintenance by date or by use
Some service intervals are calendar-based and some are mileage or hours. Both are due dates; the engine treats them the same way.
Custody is a chain
Who has it now, and who had it before. The answer to a missing tool is a history, not a guess.
