The Tie-Out
Own QuickBooks — the books, the close, the handoff
The Tie-Out is the accounting product for businesses that outgrew spreadsheets but refuse the per-seat tax: invoicing and AR, bills and AP with approval workflows, budgets, bank import with classification, tax readiness with a CPA handoff packet, and expat-country tax modules — posting to a real double-entry ledger.
The month-end close, minus the month-end.
What it does for you
Invoicing that chases itself
Invoice lifecycle, AR aging, and a reminder ladder that follows up before you have to think about it. Money you're owed stops being a spreadsheet you avoid.
Bills that post at approval, not at capture
The approval state machine means a bill hits your books when it's approved — not when someone photographed the receipt. 1099 vendor totals accumulate as you go.
Budgets vs actuals, without the spreadsheet
Budget-vs-actual tracking and a deterministic cash-flow forecast — deterministic, meaning the same inputs always produce the same numbers. No invented runway.
Tax modules for the way you actually live
Mexican tax plus nine more expat-country modules, a deductions library, the entity guide, and a compliance calendar — then the CPA handoff packet that makes filing season boring.

What they offer vs everything we offer
QuickBooks Online is the product we're openly coming for — the name says 'own QuickBooks.' The case: the same double-entry discipline, the close workflows QuickBooks never built for small businesses, and expat-country tax modules nobody else ships — without the per-seat rent.

| PriceQuickBooks raised Simple Start to $38/mo in August 2026; our $29/$59/$99/$149 plans are estimated and finalized at launch. | $38/mo (Simple Start) | From $29/mo rent — or $5 inside membership |
| Expat-country tax modulesBuilt for the way the fleet's owners actually live: cross-border businesses, not just domestic ones. | No | Yes — Mexican tax + 9 more |
| CPA handoffCredit where due: QuickBooks gives your accountant a free seat on every plan. We hand them a frozen packet instead of live access — different philosophy, same goal: a cheaper tax bill. | Yes — free accountant seat | Yes — frozen handoff packet |
| Bill approvalWorkflows suggest; the state machine enforces. Approval isn't a step you can skip — it's the gate the books require. | Approval workflows on higher tiers | State machine — bills cannot post unapproved |
| Own it outright | No — rent only | Yes — buy price set at launch |
QuickBooks Online Simple Start priced at $38/mo after the August 2026 increase; figures last checked October 2026. The Tie-Out is in pilot — rows describe the product as built; rent pricing is estimated and finalized at launch.

Is The Tie-Out live?
It's in pilot — the most honest word we have. The modules are built and tested (24/24), the posting contract is verified against the real ledger, and it runs on staging today. thetieout.com is registered; the production attach is next. We don't call it launched until real customers have run a real close on it.
How is this different from Creytix Books?
Books is the ledger engine — the double-entry journal everything posts to. The Tie-Out is the accounting product that lives on it: invoicing, bills, budgets, bank import, the close, the CPA handoff. Books is infrastructure; The Tie-Out is the app.
What does 'deterministic forecast' mean?
The cash-flow forecast is computed, not generated: the same inputs always produce the same numbers, and you can see every assumption. No language model inventing your runway, no black box. Boring math you can audit.
Do I need to be an expat to use it?
No — the expat-country modules are additive. Domestic businesses get the full close: invoicing, bills, budgets, tax readiness. The Mexican tax module and the other nine are there for the businesses that live across borders.
What happens to my QuickBooks data?
Bank statements import with classification workpapers that show their work. A dedicated QuickBooks migration path is part of the production rollout — we're not asking you to retype history.

The month-end close most businesses skip
The close is where accounting earns its name: AR aged, bills approved, bank tied to books, and the numbers frozen for the CPA. Most small businesses skip it. Here's what they're skipping.
