Core concepts
Glossary: Module vs Connect tool vs Moonshot, projects, stages, and the Guide/AI split.
Overview
Creytix reuses a handful of terms everywhere in these docs. Once you know them, every other page reads faster. This is the glossary; The eight departments and Modules, Connect & Moonshot go deeper on the two biggest ones.
How it works
Two models sit underneath almost every page in these docs:
- The department spine — the eight departments (Forge, Design Labs, Studio, Connect, Inspector, Prompt Guard, Ship, Dev) that organize every capability in the platform.
- The stage model — every build moves through the same stages regardless of department: Intake → Plan → Build → Review → Guard → Release → Monitor.
A tier badge (Live, Building, Preview) tells you where any given page or tool sits against that stage model in terms of shipped reality, not aspiration.
Steps
- •
Learn Module vs Connect tool vs Moonshot
A Module is one of the eight departments. A Connect tool is an individual fleet service inside Creytix Connect (Mail, SEO OS, Scheduling, and so on). Moonshot is the forward-looking tier — tools framed honestly as roadmap, tagged Building or Preview, not yet at full parity with what they'll become.
- •
Learn workspace vs project
A workspace is the container for one site or brand — see Connect your workspace. A project is the unit of work inside a workspace: a specific build, campaign, or release moving through the stage model.
- •
Learn the stage model
Intake, Plan, Build, Review, Guard, Release, Monitor — the same seven stages apply whether you're shipping a page through Forge and Studio, or a code change through Dev.
- •
Learn the Guide/AI split
Creytix Guide is the deterministic hints and playbook layer that helps with everyday tasks without spending a model call. Premium AI is reserved for the moments that actually need judgment — custom design work, architecture repair, and large content transforms — not every click.
Capabilities
- Module — one of the eight departments; the top-level organizing unit of the platform.
- Connect tool — an individual fleet service inside Creytix Connect, each with its own tier badge and its own "Replaces" comparison.
- Moonshot — the roadmap tier for tools that are Building or Preview; framed honestly, with no fixed ship date promised.
- Workspace — the container scoped to one site or brand; see Connect your workspace.
- Project — a unit of work inside a workspace, moving through the shared stage model.
- Stage model — Intake → Plan → Build → Review → Guard → Release → Monitor, applied consistently across departments.
- Guide vs AI — Creytix Guide handles routine hints and playbooks deterministically; premium AI is reserved for genuinely hard problems.
- Tier badge — Live, Building, or Preview, shown on every doc page and tool so you know exactly what's shipped.
Limits & honest scope
This glossary covers the terms used across these docs today — it will grow as new departments or tiers are introduced, and a term's precise meaning can sharpen as the underlying feature matures.
- It is not an API or schema reference — for the machine-readable shapes behind Connect tools, see Connect registry schema.
- The Guide/AI split describes the intended design of when AI is invoked; it is not a guarantee about any specific surface's current behavior — check that surface's own honest-scope section.
