Creytix Weather
Now and the next 7 days. No ads, no data auction.
A clean weather app — current conditions plus a 7-day forecast — powered by a free weather API, with no ads, no premium radar upsell, and no location data sold to advertisers.
The weather, without the weather business.
What it does for you
No ads over your forecast
Free weather apps are ad platforms that happen to show temperatures — video ads, sponsored placements, location data sold to brokers. Weather shows the sky, not the sponsors.
7 days, free, no asterisk
Current conditions plus the full week ahead — hourly detail included — at the free price. No 'extended forecast' paywall, no premium tier holding Tuesday hostage.
Your location isn't the product
Weather apps are among the worst location-data offenders — precise coordinates bundled to ad networks. Weather needs your location to forecast; it doesn't sell it afterward.
Powered by open data
Forecasts come from Open-Meteo, a free and open weather API built on national weather service models. Good data doesn't require a data-broker business model.
Capabilities
- Current conditions — temp, feels-like, humidity, wind
- 7-day forecast with hourly detail
- Precipitation probability and amounts
- Sunrise/sunset times
- Multiple saved locations
- No ads, no premium tier, no upsells
- Location used for forecast only — never sold
- Clean, glanceable layout — no content farm
Proof, not adjectives
- Catalog status: Planned (Pass)
- Creytix Weather passed the app-store catalog review — this page describes the product as designed. The app is queued for build.
- Free by catalog
- Standalone rent is priced at Free (est.) and membership at Free — the 7-day forecast included, not upsold.
- Open-Meteo is free and documented
- The forecast API is free for non-commercial use with no key required — the data cost is genuinely near zero, so the app can be too.
What they offer vs everything we offer
Weather apps monetize attention and location data — ads, premium radars, subscriptions for forecasts that are free elsewhere. Weather gives you the week ahead with neither.

Buy it or rent it — your call
Every Creytix tool carries both prices. Buy it outright and own it forever, or rent it month to month — renting is always cheaper than buying. No per-seat traps, no forced bundle.

Where does the forecast data come from?
Open-Meteo, a free and open weather API that aggregates national weather service models (the same underlying models the big apps start from). It's free for non-commercial use with no API key — which is exactly why a free, ad-free weather app is economically possible.
How is this different from The Weather Channel app?
The Weather Channel app is free with ads — and has faced sustained criticism for collecting precise location data and sharing it with third parties. Its ad-free tier is $9.99/year, Premium $29.99/year. Weather shows current conditions and the 7-day forecast with no ads, no tiers, and location used only for the forecast.
What about CARROT Weather?
CARROT is the fun one — a sarcastic robot delivers your forecast — and its developers state they don't sell your data, which we respect. The trade is price: the personality and full features sit behind Premium at $4.99/month or $19.99/year. Weather is the no-personality, no-price version.
Does it have radar?
The planned spec focuses on what most people check daily: current conditions, hourly detail, and the 7-day outlook with precipitation. Animated radar is the classic premium upsell — if live radar is your thing, The Weather Channel's free tier does it well (with ads).
Does it track my location?
It uses your location to show your local forecast — that's the job. What it doesn't do is bundle that location with ad identifiers and sell it. No ad SDK means no ad network to feed.

From the Creytix journal
You don’t need a weather app with ads
Free weather apps are ad platforms that happen to show temperatures — and some of the worst location-data offenders on the store. The forecast data itself is free; here’s what that means for you.
