Creytix DocScan

Paper to PDF. No watermark, no subscription, no account wall.

A document scanner that turns paper into clean PDFs — auto edge detection, perspective fix, multipage scans — with no watermark stamped on your pages and no subscription to remove it.

Your documents, without someone else's logo on them.

What it does for you

  • No watermark. Ever.

The classic scanner-app move: stamp 'scanned with X' on your document, then charge to remove it. DocScan never adds a mark in the first place — there's nothing to pay to remove.

  • No forced account

Some scanners won't let you past the camera button without an account — the account exists to enable cloud sync you didn't ask for. DocScan scans first, asks nothing.

  • Real scan quality

Automatic edge detection, perspective correction, contrast cleanup for text — the unglamorous image processing that turns a phone photo into a document you'd actually send someone.

  • Your scans stay yours

Scans save to your device, not a vendor's cloud by default. Sensitive paperwork — IDs, contracts, medical forms — never has to leave your phone to become a PDF.

Capabilities

  • Auto edge detection and perspective correction
  • Multipage scans into a single PDF
  • Text cleanup — contrast and shadow removal
  • Receipt, document, ID, and whiteboard modes
  • No watermark on any export, ever
  • No account required to scan
  • Scans stored on-device by default
  • Share or print PDFs straight from the app

What they offer vs everything we offer

Mobile scanning is a solved problem with an unsolved business model: watermark the free tier, charge to remove it. DocScan skips the watermark entirely — and the account wall some scanners hide the camera behind.

Questions, answered honestly

How is this different from Adobe Scan, which is also free?

Adobe Scan is genuinely good and free — the trade is an Adobe account and Adobe's Document Cloud, where your scans live by default. DocScan needs no account, keeps scans on your device by default, and isn't attached to any upsell ecosystem. If you're already in Adobe's world, Adobe Scan is the rational pick.

Why do other scanners watermark free scans?

It's the business model: make the free output slightly embarrassing for professional use, then charge to remove the embarrassment. CamScanner's premium runs about $49.99/year. DocScan's model is simpler — no watermark exists, so there's nothing to ransom.

Where do my scans go?

To your device. No forced cloud sync, no account to upload through. You can share or back up PDFs wherever you like — your files, your choice.

Does it do OCR / searchable text?

The planned spec focuses on capture quality: edge detection, perspective fix, contrast cleanup, clean multipage PDFs. If you need heavy OCR workflows, Adobe Scan's free OCR is the honest recommendation today.

Can it scan IDs and receipts, or just documents?

Documents, receipts, business cards, IDs, and whiteboards — each with a capture mode tuned for it (receipt mode expects small paper and high contrast; whiteboard mode flattens glare).
