Creytix Habits

Streak heatmaps for the habits you're actually building.

A habit tracker with streak heatmaps, flexible scheduling, and free reminders — see your consistency at a glance, without a subscription or a paywall on your own data.

Show up daily. Watch the grid fill in.

What it does for you

  • Heatmaps that tell the truth

A year-at-a-glance grid where every day is a tile — the pattern of your consistency is visible in a second, gaps and all. No vanity metrics, just the record.

  • Streaks without the anxiety tax

Streaks motivate — until one missed day wipes out a 200-day chain and you quit. Habits tracks streaks alongside recovery-friendly stats like completion rate, so a bad week is data, not failure.

  • Reminders are free

A habit app that can't nudge you is a journal. Per-habit reminders with custom times are included free — the cue is half the habit, and cues shouldn't be upsold.

  • Flexible, not rigid

Daily, weekly (3x/week), or custom schedules — 'gym 4 times a week' is a different habit than 'meditate daily,' and the tracker knows the difference.

Capabilities

  • Year-view streak heatmaps per habit
  • Unlimited habits on the free tier
  • Flexible schedules — daily, weekly, custom
  • Free per-habit reminders
  • Streak counts plus completion-rate stats
  • Notes on any day ('why I missed Tuesday')
  • Works offline — check-ins are local
  • No ads, no account, no gamified guilt economy

What they offer vs everything we offer

Habit trackers split between polished paid apps and gamified free ones. Habits takes the middle the market left empty: full-featured, free, and honest about missed days.

Questions, answered honestly

Do streaks actually help build habits?

They help with consistency — the research on implementation intentions ('after I pour coffee, I stretch') and visible tracking is solid. But streaks have a failure mode: one missed day can feel like total failure. That's why Habits pairs streaks with completion-rate stats — 85% over three months is a success story, not a broken chain.

How is this different from Streaks?

Streaks is a polished, paid-up-front Apple-only app ($5.99) capped at 24 habits. Habits is free, cross-platform, unlimited, and adds year-view heatmaps. If you're deep in the Apple ecosystem and like Streaks' design, it's a fine purchase — Habits is the free alternative that doesn't cap you.

What about Habitica's gamification?

Habitica turns habits into an RPG — parties, pets, bosses — and for some people that's the only thing that works. Habits deliberately doesn't gamify: no avatars, no gold, no missing a day costing you HP. Different motivation styles; pick the one that matches yours.

Can I track habits that aren't daily?

Yes — daily, weekly targets ('3x per week'), or fully custom schedules. A habit like 'call mom every Sunday' and 'gym 4x/week' track differently, and the heatmap reflects each habit's own schedule.

What happens when I miss a day?

The tile stays empty and your completion rate dips slightly — that's it. No streak-shaming, no lost levels, no punishment mechanics. The app also lets you add a note ('sick', 'traveling') so future-you understands the gap.
