Creytix Tasks
To-dos with reminders that don't cost $5 a month.
A to-do list with reminders and free repeating tasks — the features the big task apps put behind subscriptions, included from the start.
Reminders are infrastructure, not a premium feature.
What it does for you
Reminders are free. Obviously.
A to-do app that charges extra to remind you is selling you the notification your phone already knows how to send. Tasks includes full reminders — time, location, repeating — at the free price.
Repeats without the paywall
Daily, weekly, monthly, custom patterns — 'water the plants every Sunday' just works. Recurring tasks are table stakes, not a subscription perk.
Fast enough to actually use
A task app lives or dies on capture speed. Quick-add with natural language ('pick up milk tomorrow 5pm'), one-tap complete, zero loading spinners between you and an empty inbox.
No account treadmill
Your tasks live on your device. No signup flow before your first to-do, no 'sync service' that becomes a subscription later — just the list.
Capabilities
- Time, location, and repeating reminders — all free
- Natural-language quick add ('dentist Tuesday 2pm')
- Recurring tasks: daily, weekly, monthly, custom
- Subtasks, priorities, and due dates
- Today / upcoming / inbox views
- Works offline — your list is local
- No account, no sign-up, no subscription
- One-tap complete with satisfying check-off
Proof, not adjectives
- Catalog status: Planned (Pass)
- Creytix Tasks passed the app-store catalog review — this page describes the product as designed. The app is queued for build.
- Free by catalog
- Standalone rent is priced at Free (est.) and membership at Free — reminders and repeats included, not upsold.
- The paywall is documented
- Todoist's own pricing puts custom reminders on the $5/mo Pro tier — Tasks ships them at free because a reminder is not a luxury good.
What they offer vs everything we offer
The biggest task apps are genuinely good — and they charge a monthly fee for the privilege of being reminded. Tasks keeps the core free: reminders, repeats, and the list itself.

Buy it or rent it — your call
Every Creytix tool carries both prices. Buy it outright and own it forever, or rent it month to month — renting is always cheaper than buying. No per-seat traps, no forced bundle.

Why are reminders free here when Todoist charges for them?
Because a reminder is a scheduled notification — your phone's OS does the heavy lifting, and there's no per-reminder cost to pass on. Todoist bundles reminders into Pro to support a large team and infrastructure; that's a fair business, but it means you pay $60/year for something that costs fractions of a cent to deliver. Tasks is a smaller, local-first product with no such bill to cover.
How is this different from Microsoft To Do, which is also free?
Microsoft To Do is free and good — the trade is a Microsoft account and the Microsoft ecosystem. Tasks works with no account at all, keeps everything on-device, and isn't a funnel into anything else.
Does it handle repeating tasks?
Yes — daily, weekly, monthly, yearly, and custom patterns, all free. 'Pay rent on the 1st' and 'water plants every Sunday' are first-class citizens, not a premium feature.
What about location reminders?
'Remind me to buy milk when I'm near the store' — location-based reminders are included free, using your device's geofencing. No subscription, no catch.
Can I share lists with someone?
The local-first, no-account design means sharing is the honest trade-off: there's no cloud to sync through. For shared household lists, export/import covers the basics — real-time shared lists would need accounts, which is exactly what this app chose not to require.
