Session, payment intent, identity verification, and fraud review.

Commerce checkout — identity verification and liveness step rail

Note

Creytix Checkout is part of Creytix Connect — the registry of self-hosted tools that replace the SaaS your marketing stack usually rents.

Overview

Creytix Checkout handles the full path from cart to confirmed payment — session, payment intent, identity verification, and fraud review — as one flow instead of stitching together a payments provider and a separate identity-verification vendor. When a purchase needs extra assurance, Checkout can step the buyer through an identity check, including a face-scan liveness step, before the payment clears.

How it works

A purchase moves through four stages:

  1. Session — a checkout session is created for the cart or purchase.
  2. Payment intent — the payment is authorized against your connected payment provider.
  3. Identity verification — for purchases that need it, the buyer completes an identity check, including document upload and a liveness scan.
  4. Fraud review — flagged transactions land in a review queue for your team, backed by a blocklist for repeat bad actors.

Steps

  1. Open Checkout in the Control Panel

From the Creytix Control Panel, open Checkout under Connect to see sessions, payments, and the fraud review queue.

  2. Create a checkout session

A session starts when a buyer begins checkout on your site, carrying the cart or purchase details.

  3. Authorize the payment

The payment intent is created and authorized against your connected payment provider.

  4. Verify identity when required

For purchases that trigger a verification rule, the buyer completes identity verification — document upload plus a liveness scan.

  5. Review flagged transactions

Your team works flagged transactions from the fraud review queue, with a blocklist to manage repeat offenders.

Capabilities

  • Checkout sessions — a unified session for cart and purchase details, ready for payment.
  • Payment intent handling — authorization against your connected payment provider.
  • Identity verification — document upload and face-scan liveness check for purchases that need extra assurance.
  • Fraud review queue — flagged transactions surface for manual review by your team.
  • Blocklist management — track and block repeat bad actors.

Limits & honest scope

Creytix Checkout is built for teams running payments as part of a site they already manage in Creytix — not as a standalone payments processor you can plug into any stack.

  • It routes through your own connected payment provider — Checkout is not itself a payment processor or a source of merchant-of-record status.
  • Identity verification rules and fraud-scoring logic are still growing in sophistication. Check the tier badge and the changelog for what's live today.
  • Coverage of every regional payment method and identity-document type is not complete on day one.

We would rather tell you what Checkout's fraud review doesn't catch yet than have you assume full parity with a dedicated fraud-ops platform.
